Osthang Project

Three weeks before the beginning of the summer school the Osthang woods appears a fallow slot. Getting closer, following paths through the brushwood leading beside a little garden filled with appetizing vegetables to a cupboard like structure which encloses a little kitchen. A bit further a large temporary roof structure protects a wood-workshop. And beyond a huge bush of blackberries some little huts have been quickly constructed to give shelter to the first team on place, the design-builders from Constructlab.

Inhabiting the building-site

the constructlab team brings the building-site to life through their permanent presence. Building, eating, sleeping  living together on-site allows curious people, often neighbours to meet the team, access the site and potentially participate. This dynamic of exchanges results in a collective work process, and gives the building site a sense of place within a neighbourhood. Unlike classical building-sites, the constructlab project are „open to public“.
